Project Goal: Create a series of posters for The Fire Tonight's July tour through the Southeast. The band members live in 3 different states so they tour irregularly. I wanted to provide a themed series that would look consistent across social media (since anyone from anywhere can see event pages for the various cities) with distinct print posters for each town.
Why a rocket ship? I can't explain it. .... I was playing Type:Rider the other day and really fell in love with the section on Modern typefaces. That introduced me to Bifur, the font created by the legendary 1920s poster artist Cassandre. And here's where I ended up ....
That, and The Fire Tonight create music that's intense and intellectual. So classic poster styling, in my mind, might draw the right kind of people to hear them play. thefiretonight.bandcamp.com
